November is a Time for… Serving and Shopping!

If one thing is certain the start of November brings upon the busiest time of year for many. This remains true for Papillion Manor’s PEP Club.  This month PEP Club is initiating a warm clothing and non-perishable food drive to support The Open Door Mission this winter season.  The drive will continue through November 18th.  Last year Papillion Manor team members contributed to their local food pantry and Heartland Family Services in a similar fashion and donated 1,896 items far exceeding the 1,250 item goal.  Now that’s teamwork!  We hope to surpass this year’s goal of 1,350 items again!

Our second Annual Holiday Boutique takes place on November 18th from 10 am- 6 pm in our Chapel.  This is a great opportunity for residents, employees, and folks in the community to finish (or start) their Christmas shopping.  There will be many vendors present from 31 Bags, Doterra Oils, Usborne Books, and more!  Give-a-ways will take place throughout the day as well for shoppers.  The Resident Kindness Committee will be hosting a bake sale with proceeds benefitting the children of The Giving Tree.

At Papillion Manor our team members are our family and in this family, we should not have members go without gifts for their children over the holidays.  “The Giving Tree” is a confidential program  created last year to ensure that the children of our team members wake up on Christmas morning and have a gift to open.  Employees who are unsure how to fund Christmas are able to confidentially give information about each of their children regarding age, gender, clothing size, and gift ideas .  We place the information received regarding the child on “The Giving Tree” for someone to select to support.  We were so blessed that so many selfless folks were willing to contribute to the program’s success last year.  Not only did employees and the Kindness Committee support the children of “The Giving Tree”, but nurses and professionals who come into the building from other organizations participated as well.  If you would like to support a child from “The Giving Tree” please contact Caitlin S. here at Papillion Manor.
